2009 Pinot Celebration a hot ticket
The fourth International Pinot Noir Celebration to be held in the Mornington Peninsula on 6-7 February 2009 will welcome international wine diva Jancis Robinson as guest speaker.
Held biennially, the event allows lovers of Pinot Noir to taste examples from around the world alongside national and international wine media, producers from the US, France, New Zealand and Australia, during two days of serious fun.
An interesting and challenging selection of wines for the 2009 event are being planned. Guest Burgundian producer Frederic Mugnier of Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier will host a tasting of his 2006 vintage wines. Other featured wines and producers will include representations from the USA, Canada, New Zealand and a comprehensive selection of Australian and Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir.
The two days is comprised of structured tastings, spectacular lunches at local wineries each day and an al fresco dinner and grand banquet held at Lindenderry at Red Hill. Numbers are strictly limited.
Because of its success each year, the 2009 event is already sold out.
An additional day - the Pinot Garden Showcase - has been added on Sunday 8th February to allow visitors to relax with a regional display of fine wine and food in the beautiful landscape of Lindenderry at Red Hill.
This Fête des Pinots will showcase more than 30 Mornington Peninsula Pinots, along with Pinots from other regions who have been participating as guests in the Celebration. Local fine food selections will be expertly presented to all visitors, and a Burgundy Masterclass also included in the ticket cost.
