Mitchelton Wines & Preece Wines, in the Nagambie Lakes areas 90 minutes north of Melbourne, Victoria, are an icon of the Australian wine industry, and have won copious awards since its foundation in 1969.
Combining years of hands-on experience and an intimate understanding of the estate, the Mitchelton philosophy is to harness the vineyard's potential by unlocking the best from individual blocks through innovation and attention to detail in the vineyard and the winery.
Coupled with judicious use of innovative winemaking techniques, this approach gives shape and definition to the expressive qualities of the Mitchelton vineyard, creating wines of distinct personality, finesse and longevity.
These include their signature shiraz, riesling and other wines, but do not overlook their 'minor' varieties such as marsanne. Mitchelton wines are renown for their longevity and finesse.
They have reduced their range of labels in recent years (eg Preece, Classic Release) but certainly not their quality.
