Lillypilly Estate was established at Leeton, near Griffith, in Southern New South Wales, in the Riverina Wine Region of Big Rivers,in 1972 by the Fiumara family.
Lillypilly came to prominence in 1983 when the inaugural vintage of Tramillon, a unique blend of Semillon and Traminer, won the State Bank Award for Best NSW White Wine at the Royal Sydney Wine Show.
Lillypilly Estate won two of the five trophies and three of the nine gold medals awarded at the 2010 International Sweet Wine Challenge, which was held in conjunction with the 2010 Riverina Wine Show. It was the only winery to win more than one gold medal at the Challenge.
