FIRST PRIZE (3 Wine gift packs and 2 wine bodycare gift packs to be won)

Whilst images abound of people stomping grapes up to the armpits, Curly Vine has a far more dignified solution to those who want to cover themselves in the fruit of the vine. Their Wine Bottle gift packs include wineshampoo, wineconditioner, winebathsalts and a winesoap - and of course a bottle of Wirruna Estate wine so you could be sipping on the very wine you're soaking in!

Curly Vine products are made from a by-product of the wine-making process known as wine-lees which not only contain a vast amount of anti-oxidants to moisturise and soothe the skin but grape seeds to exfoliate and yeast, high in Vitamin B, said to help slow the aging process. This unique range of bodycare products is formulated using selected oils, essential oils and fragrances and is also sulphate free. The products come in three wine varieties: Shiraz, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine-lees used in Curly Vine are sourced from their own vineyard - Wirruna Estate - located on the shore of Lake Hume in north east Victoria. Wirruna also provides the wines in the gift packs.

The first three Subscribers will win the Wine Bottle gift packs and the second two drawn will win the gift packs .

SECOND PRIZE (4 copies to be won)

It's well known that seasonality plays a larger role in our food than ever before. Not only is the produce fresher and tastier when it's in season, but environmental concerns are now taken into consideration by many who count food miles. Seasonal, by Steve Manfredi, is a clear guide to what's in season when with colour-coded pages making the selection of Summer, Winter, Autumn or Spring particularly easy.

Whilst we could still delve back into Summer and whip up some barbecued king prawns with salsa piccante, it's probably time to slide into the Autumn pages and start thinking about roast figs with gorgonzola. With days still warm enough for barbecues, perhaps try some barbecued quails, red onions and sage or serve up some salsa verde and barbecued trout.

Whatever the season, this book will be a handy guide and inspiration to discover just what is in season in your part of the country and make the most of it.

THIRD PRIZE  (3 copies to be won)

Taste Food & Wine 2009 is the amazingly accessible wine guide written by Matthew Jukes and Tyson Stelzer. In the introduction they commit to "help you eat and drink better, broaden your wine horizons and amaze your taste buds". It's a big call but Matthew and Tyson deliver in this easy to use guide which covers the best wines for 2009, a section on food and wine matching and a removable dust jacket that doubles as a handy pocket reference. There's also a wealth of other related information - serving wine, tracking down that favourite wine and some low-down on great Australian reds and New Zealand pinots.

And if you've ever wondered just what some wine gurus are talking about then turn immediately to page 335 for the A-Z code-breaker of wine lingo. Learn just what is meant when a wine is described as meaty, supple, grassy or yeasty.

Another great feature of Taste 2009 is its writing style - it's down-to-earth, often offering a chuckle at the descriptions which are very easy to understand. It also offers the pronunciation of various wine styles - handy at the dinner party to setttle the argument over how to say sangiovese, viognier or nebbiolo!

Tasting Notes - old vines and Margaret River treats

Jancis Robinson

In the fifth installment of our series covering Jancis Robinson's tasting notes on The New Australian 250, she enjoys some centenarian vines from Langmeil in the Barossa Valley, and treats herself to a range from Moss Wood in Margaret River.
