The Long Table Bar and Dining Room, located in the heart of Red Hill, offers visitors an experience that is quintessentially Mornington Peninsula.
Founders Andrew and Samantha Fitzgerald - who established The Long Table in 2003 - draw inspiration for their seasonal menus from the diverse array of local produce that comes through the kitchen door daily, and much of the food treatments (eg venison cures, pickling cherries) they do themselves, using as many local ingredients as possible.
Six years after opening their small family run restaurant in Red Hill South owners Andrew and Samantha felt that their business had outgrown the building they occupied so they decided to embark on a major redevelopment of a larger premises located next door. Some twelve months later and many hiccups along the way Andrew and Samantha finally opened their new wine bar and restaurant in early September 2009.
Many things have been retained to keep the charm and feel of the former restaurant but have taken on a new dynamic in a much more functional space incorporating a lower wine bar/lounge area for tapas and light meals as well as two distinctive dining rooms, one of which can be sectioned off for private dining and celebrations.
