Montsalvat, located at Eltham in the Yarra Valley wine region of North East Victoria, was founded by Justus Jorgensen, and is Australia's oldest artists' colony. It is still a working arts centre, set in 12 acres of established gardens, the historic buildings include charming mud brick cottages and the impressive Great Hall.
Montsalvat hosts a variety of events including concerts, exhibitions and functions. A range of spaces are available to hire for artistic endeavours, weddings, business conferences and photography shoots.
The Meeting Pool restaurant is an integral part of Montsalvat where chef Stephen Shing offers rustic French dishes using fresh produce including herbs often plucked straight from the Montsalvat garden.
Montsalvat is a not-for-profit art centre, administered by a board of eight independent trustees.
