Morello sour cherries are available fresh throughout January and frozen throughout the whole year.Quinces are available fresh from the tree in March and April.The Morello sour cherry is a processing cherry, prized for use in jams, pies, tarts, cakes, desserts and sauces. They traditionally form the basis of syrups, cordials, fortified wines and liqueurs. Morello are sought after for their health giving properties, as they are a rich source of antioxidants and contain the two powerful compounds anthocyanins and bioflavonoids.Speciality products, made on the farm from farm grown produce, are available throughout the year. These include Morello cherry whole fruit conserve, Seville orange marmalade, Damson Plum Jam, preserved quince slice, Cherry Balsamic Vinegar and Morello fortified dessert wine. Ellisfield Farm also offers a rose-covered, self-contained guest cottage, ideal for two.
