'The Cups is uniquely sited among the undulating sand hills, grasslands and atmospheric coastal scenery towards the end of the Mornington Peninsula. Careful viticulture and skilled winemaking have made it a successful spot for excellent Pinot Noir, Shiraz and now a Sparkling Shiraz, unusual for the region. The smart pavilion-like cellar door has an airy ambience and on weekends the restaurant serves local produce Sicilian style, perfect with the estate's Rosé. Worth a detour.' RALPH KYTE-POWELL
